30 year old female complaining of irregular bouts of abdominal pain. Patient had lost 20 pounds without trying (usual weight 150).

Physical Exam

No lymphadenopathy.
HEENT: WNL
On admission, noted persistent elevated fever; greater than 38.5 °C.

   
Imaging

Liver scan: negative
CXR: negative for masses
GI series: mass in jejunum
Barium enema: negative for abnormalities

   
Endoscopy Not done
   
Operation 08/15/XX Abdominal exploration, proximal jejunal resection: No regional lymph node involvement. 7 cm mass involving small bowel. Liver and spleen appeared free of disease.
   
Pathology

08/15/XX

Jejunal tissue: Diffuse large cell lymphoma (Working Formulation Group G)
Mesenteric lymph nodes: no evidence of tumor

   
Treatment 08/15/XX

Surgery: Proximal jejunal resection
