Clinical Stage
TX N0 M0 Stage Group UNK
TX (According to page 319 of TNM 6th edition, extent of primary tumor is usually classified by radical orchiectomy and a pathologic stage is assigned.)
N0 (No adenopathy noted on CT scan, physical exam)
M0 (Chest X-ray and CT scan normal)
Pathologic Stage
T1 NX MX S1 Stage Group UNK
T1 (Tumor limited to testis without vascular invasion)
NX (No lymph node dissection done)
MX (Imaging done, but according to TNM 6th edition, clinical information can be used for the M category only if sufficient tissue was removed to evaluate the highest T and highest N categories)
S1 (LDH < 1.5 X upper limit normal and hCG (mIu/ml) < 5000 and AFP (ng/ml) < 1000). Per page 317 of TNM 6th edition, for staging, measure tumor markers immediately after orchiectomy and continue serial measurements if elevated.
