Word Parts and What They Mean

With an understanding of prefixes, word roots, and suffixes cancer registry professionals will be better equipped to recognize word parts and what they mean when used by medical professionals and documented in a medical record. The NIH National Library of Medicine provides an extensive list of word parts and their meanings online. Cancer registry students and experienced Oncology Data Specialists should use this list to assist with studying for the certification exam and with daily abstracting work.
