EOD Mets

Coding mets for the breast is based on several different factors

  • No evidence of metastatic disease
    • Default to no metastatic disease when there is no documentation on the metastatic workup.
  • Distant lymph node involvement
    • Cervical
    • Contralateral (lymph nodes from opposite breast): axillary, internal mammary, infraclavicular, supraclavicular.
  • Other metastatic involvement
    • Most common metastatic sites for breast are bone, liver, brain.

See SEER*RSA, Breast, for the current version of EOD and complete coding instructions for the Breast schema.
