Using the Database and Manual to Abstract a Case

The Hematopoietic Manual includes a section called Steps for Using the Heme DB and Hematopoietic Coding Manual, which provides detailed, step-by-step guidance on how to use both resources. It is essential to review this section before abstracting any hematopoietic case.

This section also contains two summary tables—one for the Multiple Primary Rules (M rules) and one for the Primary Site and Histology Rules (PH rules). These tables are designed to streamline and speed up the process of identifying the correct M or PH rule.
