The grading of lung tumors is based on a 4-grade Nuclear grading system.

Grade is to be coded from the original primary tumor. Do not use grade information from lymph nodes, metastatic tissue, or recurrences.

Grade definitions for Lung
Code Grade Description
1 G1: Well differentiated
2 G2: Moderately differentiated
3 G3: Poorly differentiated
4 G4: Undifferentiated, anaplastic
9 Grade cannot be assessed (GX); Unknown
