Lymphoma-CLL/SLL
This schema is used for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia/Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (9823/3) and covers all sites. In the past, this type was classified within the general lymphoma group.”
Beginning in 2018, CLL/SLL was distinguished from the main Lymphoma schema to account for the RAI stage and associated SSDIs, though its staging continues to follow the general Lymphoma schema
See Lymphoma for information on staging
RAI Stage
The Rai classification system is used for chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma. The Rai stage is only applicable when there is bone marrow and/or peripheral blood involvement. There are four stages, which are based on the absence or presence of the following SSDI data items.
- Lymphocytosis
- Adenopathy
- Organomegaly
- Anemia
- Thrombocytopenia
These 5 SSDIs are only applicable for the Lymphoma-CLL/SLL schema. See the SSDI manual or SEER*RSA for more information on these data items, and the Derived Rai Stage data item which includes additional information for coding these data items.
