Hematopoietic Schemas
There are several Hematopoietic schemas. Your software will take you to the correct schemas based on the primary site and histology that is entered, and for some Hematopoietic cases, a Schema Discriminator is required. The Hematopoietic Schemas are histology based and include
- Mycosis Fungoides
- Primary Cutaneous Lymphomas
- Lymphoma Ocular Adnexa
- Lymphoma-CLL/SLL
- Lymphoma: Covers the remaining lymphomas
- Plasma Cell Myeloma and Plasma Cell Disorders
- HemeRetic (Leukemias, MDS, MPN, other miscellaneous hematopoietic neoplasms)
The next section will cover general information about each of the Hematopoietic schemas, including biomarkers, genetics, EOD, and Summary Stage.
See Schemas | SSDI and Grade Data
for the SSDI manual and the schema information or SEER*RSA for complete coding instructions for these data items.
Note 1: For the SSDIs, it is very important that you always read the general instructions (see NAACCR link above) first. For example, the general instructions tell you how to code when there is a range, when “less than” or “greater than” is used. After the general instructions are reviewed, you move to the data specific instructions.
Note 2: Hematopoietic schemas do not have grading systems. Code 8 (not applicable) for Clinical Grade, Pathological Grade, and blank for Clinical yc Grade, Pathological yp Grade.
- See Lymphoma Ocular Adnexa for an exception.
